PICNIC TABLE
The owners of Pontotoc Vineyard, the Money Family, bought the small farm in 2018. The property consists of the vintage gas station, a 1940s rock cottage, which they converted into a guest house, Camp Wanderlust, and a block garage, which they are converting into a distillery that will likely open in 2024. The roadside gas station was the first place on the road from Austin to Fredericksburg where German was customarily spoken. Along with Pontotoc Vineyard’s 100% Texas Hill Country wines, Picnic Table will offer a Picnic Table Spread created by the owner, Frances Money, a classically trained pastry chef, with the option of two different homemade picnic baskets – the original Pontotoc Picnic Basket and the Hye Picnic Basket – as well as several homemade Picnic Snacks served in mason jars with saltines and homemade Picnic Sweets. Further, in a nod to the past, Picnic Table will sell local peaches and seasonal vegetables off the front porch.
Pontotoc Vineyard’s Picnic Table is open for wine flights, glasses & bottles of wine as well as our Picnic Baskets. Outdoor seating is available and no reservations are required for groups under 8 people. If your group size exceeds 10, please call Frances Money at 512.658.0023 to make arrangements.
